If you were in charge of giving away $100,000 to a new, up and coming Canadian company would you pick a cheese shop, a food wrapping association, or a recycling company?
I for one would choose the latter.
Why? Because we all say we want a better planet for ourselves and our children. But really, what are we doing to make that happen? Well, I’m voting. I’m going to The BDC Young Entrepreneurs competition and submitting a daily vote for Waste with Purpose - the ONLY Albertan company of the nine that was chosen as a finalist in this competition. They achieve all of their waste aversion goals by executing highly customized programs for condo buildings and other businesses around Calgary.
This company also gives back to the community by donating about $1000 EVERY MONTH to various charities such as The Women’s Shelter, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Program, Alberta Flood Charity, Hall Family Services and The Red Cross just to name a few. Wait - did I mention that they do this every single month?! Talk about Superheros.
Am I trying to convince you to vote along with me every single day for this awesome company, or maybe even just once? Heck yes, I am, because the good guys, the really good guys deserve to be rewarded so that their company may continue to treat our community, our city and our blue planet the way it must be treated - with respect.
