Little Guy Love

Guys - I’m smitten.  I can’t handle the love I have for my son.  Seriously, he melts me and I’m soooooo happy that he’s such a momma’s boy.  He’s been the sweetest little guy lately, running up to me giving me hugs and kisses non-stop, wanting to cuddle.  It’s just the best having a little man.  Ok - just had to get that out.  HA!

I’ve been having fun picking out some of William’s spring wardrobe.  One small complaint that I have about dressing a little boy is that there doesn’t seem to be as many options as there are for girls.  Anyone else feel me?  I was warned about this when we found out that we were having a boy and I didn’t really believe it until now.  We were looking at the Joe Fresh line in Superstore and I literally had to ask the sales lady where the baby boy section was.  She pointed me in the direction of one small isle beside a massive baby girl zone.  ?????  It seems to be that way in many shops.

Anyway, I always want to make sure Will has a few trendy cute little guy pieces cause let’s face it - Scarlet sure has enough and I know he doesn't care about that just yet - but I do.  Here are a few pick ups from Zara that I just adore.
Palm trees and sunglasses?   Oh heck yes.

So cheeky!  I'm soooooo using this as blackmail later in his life ;)

Happy Wednesday friends!

Disney favourites

Hi my name is Kate and I can't stop buying girly Disney princess stuff for myself my daughter.  Scarlet might just love this princess paraphernalia as much if not more than me so I feel totally justified in going 'there'.  It's colour free lipgloss so no makeup is involved (that stage isn't coming for a long lonnnnnng time).
But how cute are these little tubes of lip smacker?!?!  Ok.  I'll stop now...

In other news:

The irony of this picture is not lost on me.  One of Scarlet’s favourite disney movies right now (that ISN’T princess oriented) is 101 Dalmatians.  She asks for it at least three times a week and watches so intently that I feel she zombies out and completely forgets to blink.

I’m currently of the mindset that while William is in his second nap of the day, to keep Scarlet quiet I’ll happily turn on a show or a movie downstairs in the basement.  These days it’s been little 30-45 minute snips of this sweet puppy story.

My favourite Disney movie was The Little Mermaid which we haven’t introduced the kids to yet.  Nate’s favourite disney movie is Aladdin which the kids also haven’t seen so I’m looking forward to those family popcorn nights together.

What is your favourite disney movie of all time?  I’d LOVE to hear from you guys in the comment section below.

Have a lovely Wednesday friends.  More posts to come this week.

Tis the season to Romp!

Tis the season to ROMP!

Romper that is.  It’s a gorgeous 20 degrees here in Cowtown and I’m feeling almost Stampede ready in my cowgirl boots as Scarly calls them.  The romper is really needed these days since the heat has been blasting us but I’m definitely not complaining about it.

Speaking of heat, my sister Laura, her hubby (my bro) Ted, Nate and I, plus all the kiddies had been planning to hit the hot hot desert in palm springs.   But, after taking a look at the temperature which bragged a 46 DEGREES CELSIUS for most of the month, the four of us very responsible adults agreed that we weren’t comfortable taking our babes into that heat.  So, we unfortunately cancelled the trip.  But we rebooked for a getaway at a similar family style Resort in San Diego.  I can’t tell you how pumped I am about it!

If you’re interested in the above outfit details you can find them in ‘Style’.  I'll be packing it along with a bunch of lightweight rompers for our vacay.  Super easy to just throw on with a hat since it's both a top and shorts.  I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

A big ole Zara haul

Summer hauls have officially started and my credit card is getting a little workout.  Unfortunately, I missed snapping shots of a few pieces because Scarlet was wearing her new pink romper today (and is currently napping) and Will dirtied his outfit so badly at lunch that I had to throw on one of his new t-shirts right then and there.  But here are the rest of the goodies that I was able to snap.  If you’re wondering why Nate didn’t get anything it’s not because I forgot about him.  He’s ordering a very nice suit from Nordstrom for a wedding that we’re attending this summer and he didn’t want to blow his clothing budget (yup we’re one of those couples who track spending and try to stay below the line).  Most of the items are from Zara (free shipping on line if you spend over $50) with the exception of the baby boy fedora hat and boy swim shorts - I just wanted to include them cause they're new and so CUTE!!!
A few of Will's new things.

Scarlet's tee's and cute plush denim lightweight pants.  Can that flowy white top be anymore beautiful?!?!

My stuff!  A white distressed denim jacket with a pair of distressed skinnies a striped sundress (obsessed with stripes) and a black romper that I'll feature for June in the 'Style' section

I also wanted to share two sweet little things with you guys.  The first is a saying that I came across the other day that I am going to teach Scarlet at a very VERY early age:

‘A girl should be like a butterfly, pretty to see and hard to catch.’

I just love this and really can’t seem to get it out of my head because it’s so perfect.

The second is this really sweet pics of Will in the jolly jumper who coincidentally is wearing Zara clothing (haha).  He is just suck a sweet boy and totally has my heart.  I can’t believe his 7 month birthday will be coming up in a few days.  Check back for that update on the blog later on in the week.
Finally, we're heading out of town on a vacation with my brother Ted, sister-in-law Laura and their son Charlie.  I can’t WAIT to see them and spend some quality time together exploring the desert in California!  I’m so pumped because I’m dying to get my hippie vibe on there.  Haha.  I always knew there was a little free spirit within.

Hope everyone has a beautiful week!

Summer Kixs

Kids shoes:  They’re way better than ours.

I might have a slightly unhealthy relationship with shoes.  I mean, as a eight year old girl I remember taking my tap shoes downstairs and practiced for hours and hours just to see my shiny black patent leather feet and hear the clickety clack of those gorgeous silver metal taps on the linoleum.  Pretty AND noisy.  Genius.  Then I discovered oxford jazz shoes.  No wonder I loved Dance so much!  Don’t even get me started about pointe shoes…

I can fondly remember my Mom and Grandma Enns taking me out to buy fancy church shoes early in the week for that Sunday.  I don’t think I was as excited about Christmas that year as I was about wearing those cute flats that weekend.

Fast forward to now where I can buy not just my daughter…but also for my SON!  It’s a constant temptation - modern, adorable, cute, affordable, way-cooler-than-my-shoes for FOUR SEASONS of the year.  I LOVE that their feet keep growing out of old pairs cause that means I get to go out and get new bigger ones!  Haha!  What parent has ever said that?  Anywho, here are some of the cutest and latest and greatest finds from Zara that I’m currently obsessing over.  I just can’t even… #gowhitegirl #gowhitegirl

Nate actually said that he wanted a pair like Will's and has been looking for a while for some but hasn't been able to find any.  HAHA.  I too want a cute pair of sandals like Scar's.  Sigh - and they'll have no recollection of just how cool their mommy is dressing them.  Oh well.  There will be pictures.

Toddler and Baby Winter Haul

Ok - it’s officially freezing outside.  We’re talking -18C and lower.  BUT, we’re staying warm inside and making the most of our time packed together.  It's supposed to be 2C at some point this week so we’ll layer our warm leggings with a long-sleeved tee and a sweater under a snowsuit and go out for a sleigh ride with Grandma!  I’m dying to get some shots of that.  Here’s what I will have Scarlet and Will dressed in for the next few weeks.

Mostly Zara baby, Carter's and Etsy

Have a great weekend everyone!

Let the Winter Hauls begin!

Crispy cool weather encourages cozy knits, baggy sweaters and well tailored coats, well at least for Scarly and I - wait proper grammar is actually Scarly and ME... right?  That just sounds wrong though.  (Cue rolling of my own eyes).

Anywho, here is the start of some of Scarlet's winter hauls.  I did two little groupings - one from Joe and the other from Gap kids.  Enjoy!

I have a matching peacoat and I must say, we look like little blonde twinsies in these.  I'll try to get a pic of it at some point.
