We're back from Mexico!

We're back!!!

Which means I’m going to be a good little bloggity-blogger and write everyday for the rest of the month of March!  That’s my promise!  Which is hopefully going to be super easy to keep cause March is all of three days left so definitely doable!

Anyway, when it comes to thinking about our trip, I have to be honest with myself and tell you that one of the first things that comes to my mind is the food.  Yup - Mexican food has to be my third boyfriend in life (William - my son - is first and the beach is second).  But my third boyfriend has my heart so much so that I took over 45 pictures of Food on this trip.  (Annnnnnnd cue tears of laughter with a side of guacamole).

So go check out the ‘EATS’ section and what I ate for an entire day while on vacation and have yourself a good laugh.  I know I sure did when I uploaded all the pics.  I was thinking; 'Really?  Was that all in one day?  Sheesh, I really do love me some Mexican!!!'  Hope you enjoy all the pico-de-gallo and salsa my amigos - Lord knows I took enough pics of them.

I hate packing - it’s one of my biggest dislikes along with poor drivers, touching wet food in the sink and blowing your nose at the table.  I don’t know what it is, but I will procrastinate until the very last possible moment.  It’s strange.  Especially since I should have learned my lesson after the last trip when I packed six pieces of clothing for myself.  Yes.  Six - for an entire week!  Also, half of those six pieces were bathing suit cover-ups!  Like - what the heck?  My poor mother-in-law had to give me some of HER clothes for the week.  Funny enough both kids had absolutely everything they needed and more because their needs and desires (apparently) are much more important to me which kinda makes me feel proud.  BUT why do I have such an issue with packing for myself?

Maybe it’s cause I feel overwhelmed with putting outfit after outfit together?  Or maybe it’s all the folding.  I really don’t know.  But look what I decided to do this morning INSTEAD of pack for our upcoming trip?!  RIGHT?  Best trade off ever.  Like look at his face!!!  I know he won't ever remember how we tickled each other till our stomachs hurt, but I don't care.  That was the best morning I've had in a while.  The fact that my suitcase still has nothing in it and we leave in less than 48 hours isn't really freaking me out...too much...

HAHA!  I’m horrible.  Hope everyone has a lovely week!  I’ll be signing off of the blog for a little while since we’ll be away but stay tuned.  I’ll be doing 'style' and 'eats' while we're away and of course Instagram as much as possible.    ( @kweilz )

Mommy Daughter time

We have the best time.

It can be hard with two kiddos to find time to commit to quality alone time with each of them separately.  For example, we do almost everything as either a trio or a foursome (with Daddy) so getting one on one time with Scarlet or William is difficult.

Luckily, we are in a nice groove right now where William sleeps for a solid hour, (sometimes more) during the day at around 11 am.  This is the time when Scarlet and I paint, dance, play dress up, practice catch, work on her upper case letters, read her ‘big-kid books’ and even bake.  It’s also a chance to set up my friendly timer and tripod and just go to town with fun pics.

Here are a few shots that happened to work out when she and I were messing around and just being girly.  Hope you enjoy and happy Monday everyone!!!  Now, I really need to get to packing!
I.  Hate.  Packing.

Taking a second to smell the beauties from Daddy.

She didn't like the Robots in the Popular Science mag too much.

Valentines!

Walking to our restaurant - immmm - pink and purple for V-day!?!?!  Perfect perfect perfect.

The Valentine’s Day Date.  Thank goodness we were even able to get out alone (without kids), seriously such a biggie when there are two around - I don’t know how mommas with more than two do it, and/or single moms.  Props to the enth degree.  Like for reals.

But tonight we went to Starfishbelly which was recommended to me by my hairdresser Lisa from Lavish and it did not disappoint!  We were surprised by how ‘downtown’ the inside of the restaurant felt - even though it was just five minutes away from our pad in suburban land.  The food and wine were not quite fine dining (which is totally good with me cause I usually spill it all over myself anyway) but it was polished and refined.  I was conflicted with the Bore shoulder Gnocchi vs the Mushroom risotto and ended up making a last minute switch for a gorgeous steak that caught my eye in the final seconds before the server came around.  We started with a spicy tuna tartare and didn’t end up getting any dessert because we were just so satisfied.

Afterwards, we walked around the restaurant (seriously have to come back to take better pics with my big girl camera) and just talked and laughed until it was time to go back home.  I received some gorgeous rare roses (that bloomed so large they were as big as my hand!) and a sentimental card, some pretty girly lingerie that I actually picked out.  HA!  What can I say?  I'm picky with the lacey stuff.

Anywho, it was such a lovely evening.  Hope everyone enjoyed their special love day too.
My handsome hubby Valentine.

Boys...

It was SOOO gorgeous out for Februrary!!!  We didn't even need jackets today.

Getting a little bit fussy.

I honestly never really thought about matching my son and my daughter in similar clothing.  It wasn't really a notion that had crossed my mind.  But lately I'm so into it!!!  I found these adorable little matching outfits at HnM and Zara and just bought all the boy versions and made Scarlet's girly (pink deers on her sneakers, white hair bow) and VOILA!  Done.  Unfortunately, I think I may have a new problem...
