Mar 2015
It's March and we have had flowers around the house twice!  Seriously, this is usually unheard of because of the winter weather but this year has been beautiful.  Keep it comin' Mother Nature!

Dec 2014
Christmas Decor at the Weiland Home
 Front door wreath

Let's continue with this pic.  In my opinion, no kitchen is complete in the month of Dec without Christmas blend from Starbucks and a little splash of Bailey's original to go with it.  This was consumed probably way too much by me, but when you're coming out of ten months of sobriety during pregnancy - this is a nice transition back to the darker side.

Next up is this year's gorgeous Christmas tree.  I took a few different shots of it just because I loved it so much.  I decided on the corner this year as opposed to the centre window area just cause it was feeling cozier.  Next year tho, I've decided we need two new trees - a kid tree upstairs and a pretty new white and gold one in our newly developed basement.  I'll probably only end up getting one though... time is a big thing now around here.

This is a pic of our front foyer hutch.  It houses family pics during the regular part of the year but during the holidays this is the spot for my Snowman, my glass bowl (a wedding gift) and my beloved Nutcracker that I got as a pre-teen way back when I was obsessed with Nutcracker Ballet.  I was in the Ballet as a young dancer with the Alberta Ballet and always wanted to be Clara - but I was cast as a party boy instead.  #yupthatsthetruth

Part of our backyard.

Jingle Bells on the front door!  They rang every time someone came over!  So fun.

Our stockings this year.  Scarlet, Dad, Mom and Will's new one!  I really like these but secretly hope for personalized stockings one day.

These are our Winter planters outside.  I love them because they smell amazing with the real 'greens' placed throughout.

At around 10pm Christmas Night we got a beautiful big downfall of snow which turned out to be a gorgeous ending to a very magical day.

Hope everyone's Christmas was a safe and special one filled with love and family time.

Nov 2014
Baby Will's room!

I thought since November has always been a 'limbo' month for me, meaning that it's right in between two fairly large holidays, that it would be fun to do the reveal for our sweet boy's room.  Also, I'm so thrilled that this month will forever bring a BOY birthday party and excitement to this sometimes slow month.  So here is his little room!

Beachy ;)

His little boat shoes.  Kill me now...

Smooth waters

This stencil was really doable for Nate to knock out quickly.  He did it in under an hour and I just love the outcome.  We went with a tone on tone so it wasn't too obvious, but I think it's quite boat 'ish' and will work when we upgrade the little prince's room in a year or two.  (Btw, Scarlet's nursery is getting a big girl upgrade in the new year!)  Can't wait to do that one.

Calming art...ahhhhhhhhh.

I loooove this rope mirror.  Seriously so perfect for the room.

Sleep sack ready to roll!  Even though he won't be in it for quite a few months.

And can we talk about the closet here?  I think we're stocked for the next while.  No, but honestly, I kept hearing how it was really hard to shop for boys and find cute stuff...hmmmmmmm not for this little momma.  I thought it was just as fun as looking for girls!!!  Since this pic was taken (about a week ago) I've done more because I just can't resist the cutest of these boy outfits!  And Etsy?  Forget about it.  I have packages coming daily to the house because some of their handmade (not made in China) items are just so dear.  As you can see I'm extremely pumped to start putting him in some of these sweet things.  YAY!

Hope you enjoyed the month of November House - obviously Dec will showcase our Christmas decorations but may not be up for quite a while - I think I'm going to have my hands pretty full.
Have a great month friends!

Oct 2014

Yup - home made bunting ;)

Scarlet named this guy 'Walt'.

BLAH!!  I can't believe I have these guys around the house!

This one makes me laugh every time cause Nate kinda hates this skeleton.

I ended up putting these guys outside with a ton of black tool and white tissue paper ghosts.  They'll get carved on either Thursday or Friday for the sweet kiddies coming around.  Can't wait to dress up!

Sept 2014
oh hey new Autumn pillows!  I kinda love your patterns...and colours.

Kitchen table with a gigantic silver pumpkin on there.  Just what we needed...

That's a squash right?  I don't know, but I really liked it so I bought it.

Oooooh.  So mysterious.  Enjoy the nighttime shots of some of the Sept decor going up!

Yes - real leaves straight from our backyard.

I love the shadows that these sticks cast on the table.  Very spooky.

You can't see it in the pics but these are actually sparkly twigs.

Aug 2014

Laundry Room

Although the space isn't totally finished (Nate will be tiling the back wall with little penny hexagon white tiles soon), I still wanted to show the room.  The best part about this room though is the fact that it's upstairs. LIFESAVER!

Purple and lavender accents compliment the parisian theme.

July 2014

These were our 'summer potted planters' placed on either side of our garage door and one up at the front door.  I was really happy with them this year.  They were pretty and full of blooms the entire summer.  Even now at the beginning of Aug they are starting to sprout some blue blooms.
UBER purdy.

This is the one beside the front door.  Unfortunately, all three summer planters will be coming down soon and my fall planters will be going up.  Everything has to run it's course I guess.  I have to say though, these have been my favourite planters in years.  Just the right size and colours and easy to maintain.  I'm a fan!

May 2014
Master bedroom before and after

Queen bed with the King duvet cover on it.  I bought that first to stay on track in terms of buying the rest of it.  Also, not totally sure what's going on with the colouring of the photo here but the picture below is definitely more accurate.  I think the first was taken with my cell a little while ago.

King!  Really don't know why we didn't do this sooner.  We love the new mattress too.  ahhhhhh.  Looking for some large 'king' sized pillows for the back headboard but all in good time.

Mar 2014

Beautiful new art that we have inherited from Nate's side of the family.  It is currently hanging in the stairwell and we absolutely adore it.  Scarlet is captivated when we walk up and down the stairs and constantly wants to touch it.

Dec 2013

Close-up  My fave ornaments are the small little boy and girl porcelain skaters from my Grandma.  They're in this picture but really hard to find.  (Just above the middle mark of the tree)

Oh BABY it's cold.

Nov 2013

Handmade snowflakes.  So fun to unfold and reveal and pretty cute!

Front Foyer

Planters outside.  We have three of these bad boys.  One at the front door and two on either side of the garage door.  Made in Canada!

New Mirror in front hallway
Just fits

I was going to do a really interesting stencil in this little niche, and then I had a baby.  Funny what becomes more important as time goes on...

Nurseryland con't

I finally got the collage done.  That was really a ton of measuring and re-measuring but I'm pretty happy with the results.  My only issue is that the shadows cast yet another 'line' which made me feel as though the pictures looked crooked again, but after checking them all for the millionth time I'm convinced they're even.

Cutie pie waiting to be changed

My glider from Cherry Four in Kensington.  It was a little late arriving, but well worth the wait.  That puppy will put you out!

SOPHIE!

What up Mom?

Powder bathroom

With a Kitty on the side.

Milo just couldn't resist being in the shot.

Funky light with the mirror that never ends.

I love this little magazine rack.  It works perfectly in the small bathroom and fits a bunch of mags vertically in the corner.  Stand was found at Twisted Goods in Southcentre.

The Cluttered Basement (featuring Milo)

One of my goals this June is to attempt to begin to clean our scary basement.  One of the reasons I haven't as of yet is because I truly and wholeheartedly believe that there are Zombies living in the far back corner - legitimately.  But the sooner I get this done, the sooner a spare bedroom, bathroom, gym and wine room can be built down there.  Hey, who doesn't want more living space?

New Art

I love this piece.  It took a long time for Nate and I to finally find something for this massive wall, but I'm really glad we held out until this baby came along.  We're definitely modern art lovers - however, I can appreciate all works, just don't ask me to pay a small fortune for them.

The Kitch

I wouldn't normally post pics of the inside of our house; but I'm just so proud of Nate for designing and building this dream kitchen that I want to share it on the blog.

I love this hood fan and stove because they're modern, easy to use and QUIET!

Would you believe it if I told you we bought those wicked barstools from LONDON DRUGS?!?!?!?!?!?!?  Hahahaha!  I love a good deal.  80 bucks a pop!  WHEW!  It's funny cause they have almost the exact same ones at many of the high end furniture shops in the design district.  But they're all made in China... probably by the exact same people :(

Nursery Land thus far

These stripes were AWFUL to tape and measure and paint, but I really love the end result.  We just did the one wall so it wasn't too overwhelming.

The modern crib from Babyletto (online under the name 'Hudson')

No theme except for a few woodland creatures like the butterflies, birds, owl.  I don't love themes...  We hope to do a collage of Scarlet's newborn baby photos above her crib once they arrive from Brittney Bietz photography.

The start of her WARDROBE!!!  Scarlet's Stylez

A cute dresser and a warm light under the window.  Our glider (that has yet to arrive) will be placed in this corner.  It's from Cherry Four in Kensington in the colour...wait for it...wait for it...gray - shocker.
